Aaron Sayne

Lead, Domestic Energy Transition

Aaron helps to develop NRGI’s growing work on energy transition, contributing to research, messaging, strategy and country-level programs. One particular focus for him is the challenges and opportunities fossil fuel-rich countries face as they shift to renewables.

An anticorruption lawyer by training, Aaron has conducted investor due diligence, market research and complex financial crimes investigations, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. He has advised governments and companies on political risk issues and he serves as an expert witness in cases of alleged wrongdoing in oil and gas.

Aaron holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
