Hello from the staff of the Richmond Fire Department Credit Union Inc. We want to thank you for taking your time to read this.

We have a lot to offer you, some things you are aware of and others that you did not think we did. But we do and we do it for you!


Back in the late 1920’s, the Richmond Fire Department Credit Union Inc. was founded because of the need to borrow money to purchase a sewing machine. Three (3) members of the City of Richmond, Fire Department pooled their monies together for the purchase and thought that this should be available to all the members of the department.

On May 11, 1929, a charter was formed and we were incorporated with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s State Corporation Commission. Forward the clock to the future and we have grown into a 1500 plus members with over $15,000,000.00 plus in assets financial institution serving members all over the United States and the world.

We pride ourselves on trying to give the member the best possible service! Our Staff consist of Glenn E. Grooms – Vice President, Mary Jane West - Loan Operations Specialist, Christina M. Garland, President/CEO.
